La Liga president Javier Tebas: ‘If anyone can’t complain about refereeing errors, it’s Real Madrid’ Javier Tebas has once again placed Real Madrid at the centre of the conversation, this time responding to the club’s submission to UEFA concerning refereeing decisions linked to the Negreira case. The La Liga president spoke during a press conference in Madrid, where he was asked about the report sent by Los Blancos and his recent appearance at Joan Laporta’s inauguration ceremony.  As has often been the case in recent years, Tebas did not shy away from addressing one of Spanish football’s most contentious topics. Tebas questions Real Madrid’s position Asked about Real Madrid’s dossier sent to UEFA , Tebas admitted that he had not yet had the opportunity to review the document, but suggested he would do so with considerable interest. The La Liga chief questioned whether the report only focused on decisions that affected Real Madrid or if it also acknowledged mistakes suffered by other clubs throughout the same period. (Photo by Miguel Tovar/Getty Images) “I haven’t seen it yet, but I’m really looking forward to reading it.  “I want to see which years they’re complaining about, and whether they’re complaining about the mistakes made against all clubs, including Real Madrid itself.  “If anyone can’t complain about refereeing errors, it’s Madrid,” he said, as per Mundo Deportivo . On Florentino Perez and possible inauguration invitation The La Liga president was also asked whether he would attend an inauguration ceremony hosted by Florentino Perez, having recently accepted an invitation from Joan Laporta. Tebas explained that he already receives regular invitations from Real Madrid but often declines due to personal commitments. Tebas attended Joan Laporta’s inauguration ceremony. (Photo by Alex Caparros/Getty Images) “In fact, I’m invited to the VIP box every weekend, but for personal reasons I don’t go, because I have family matters to attend to.” He also made it clear that institutional relationships should always be maintained, regardless of disagreements between clubs and governing bodies. “If it were an inauguration, of course I’d go, I’d take the floor and, of course, I’d say the same thing I said yesterday.  “That there are periods of disagreement, difficult times, when everyone defends their own position, but the important thing is to work with respect for the institutions,” he concluded.
