Confirmed: Barcelona academy winger leaves for Dinamo Zagreb

Confirmed: Barcelona academy winger leaves for Dinamo Zagreb FC Barcelona have officially announced that La Masia winger Dani Rodriguez has left the club to sign for Dinamo Zagreb. The 20-year-old winger departs the Catalan outfit in search of regular first-team football, and has signed for the Croatian giants, following in the footsteps of former La Masia defender Sergi Dominguez. As confirmed by the club, the deal for Rodriguez, who still had a year left on his contract, sees Barcelona retain a buyback clause as well as a future sell-on percentage on the winger. “FC Barcelona and Dinamo Zagreb have reached an agreement for the transfer of Dani Rodriguez. The club retains a buy-back option on the player, as well as a percentage of any future sale,” the club statement read. Rodriguez has been at Barcelona since 2020, having arrived from the academy of Real Sociedad. Held in high regard within the club, the Basque winger made over 40 appearances for Barça Atletic during his time in Catalonia. Rodriguez even made his first-team debut for Barcelona in May 2025, featuring in a La Liga game against Real Valladolid, although it ended with him suffering a dislocated shoulder. Now, he departs the club in search of regular minutes at the first-team level, while Barcelona retain some degree of control over his future. “FC Barcelona would like to express its gratitude to Dani Rodríguez for his commitment, dedication and work during all these years at the Club, and wishes him the best of luck and much success, both personally and professionally, in this new stage,” the club statement concluded.
