Real Madrid deny interest in Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez with official statement
Real Madrid deny interest in Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez with official statement Real Madrid have shut down speculation linking the club with Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez. Reports had suggested that Fernandez was a prime target for Madrid , with manager Jose Mourinho pushing for his signature. However, Madrid, dismissed those claims in an official statement on their website , insisting they have no interest in Fernandez. “In light of the reports and statements that have appeared in recent days regarding an alleged interest from Real Madrid CF in the player Enzo Fernández, the club wishes to state that it has not made any effort, either direct or indirect, to sign the aforementioned player and, likewise, has no intention of undertaking such an operation. “Real Madrid wishes to express its utmost respect for Enzo Fernández, a great footballer whose career and quality are widely known, as well as for Chelsea FC, a club with which it maintains an excellent institutional relationship. “Precisely because of the respect that an entity like Chelsea FC deserves and because of the principles of institutional loyalty that have always governed the actions of Real Madrid, the club considers it necessary to categorically deny speculations that are unfounded and do not correspond to reality. “Real Madrid regrets that, despite the clarity of the facts and the lack of any action on the part of the club, information continues to be disseminated that does not correspond to reality and that only contributes to generating confusion among fans and unnecessarily harming the entities and people involved.” It now remains to be seen whether Madrid’s stance would influence the future of Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga. The two Frenchmen have been linked with Manchester United. The Los Blancos have already bolstered their midfield with the signing of Bernardo Silva from Manchester City . They would need to sell to create room for a new midfield signing. Meanwhile, Fernandez could still leave Chelsea this summer. His agent, Javier Pastore, recently confirmed that the midfielder is ‘ looking at possibilities to leave’ the west London outfit . Arsenal have been credited with an interest in Fernandez , but their primary target is believed to be Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimaraes, who would cost less than the Argentina international. Chelsea have reportedly placed a £120 million asking price on the 25-year-old, who still has six years left on his contract.
