Lorient reach agreement with Nice for Gabin Bernardeau According to a report from Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna , FC Lorient have reached an agreement with OGC Nice to secure the signing of France youth international Gabin Bernardeau (20). top-half The midfielder was a product of the Le Mans academy, but moved to Nice in 2025. He made four appearances from the bench in the league for the southern side during a difficult season where Les Aiglons battled with the threat of relegation, only escaping the drop with a play-off win over AS Saint-Étienne.  Bernardeau played a small part in Nice’s passage to the final of the Coupe de France, starting in the Round of 16 win over Ligue 2 side Montpellier HSC, and making two further appearances as a substitute in the cup.  Bernardeau will reportedly return north in a move valued at around €1m as Lorient look to build on last season’s impressive return to the top flight, where they flirted with a European challenge and eventually ended the campaign narrowly missing out on a top-half finish.  GFFN | Nick Hartland
