London City Lionesses sign Danish international Thomsen

London City Lionesses sign Danish international Thomsen London City Lionesses have completed the signing of Danish international ace Janni Thomsen on a two-year deal. WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Pride this afternoon. The 26-year-old, who can operate at full-back or in midfield, joins London City Lionesses from American National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club Utah Royals. Thomsen has spent 15 months in the United States. Thomsen started out in her native Denmark with VSK Aarhus before enjoying a successful spell with Vålerenga where she made more than 100 competitive appearances. On the international stage, Thomsen has been capped by Denmark on 57 occasions in which she has scored 11 goals. After joining London City Lionesses, Thomsen said “I’m very proud to join London City. I have always wanted to play in the Women’s Super League. For me, this is the best league in the world. I’m excited to learn and experience this type of football. “Last year, I moved to the USA which has been a great experience, now I feel ready for this adventure here in England which I’m really looking forward to. “This project is a serious project. They have big ambitions. I’m excited to come home to Europe and to get started.” Thomsen is London City Lionesses’ third signing of the summer transfer window.
