Under contract with VfL until 2029, but with a rising market value, Kumbedi is reportedly unlikely to be retained by his club should a satisfactory offer be made. Having made 24 Bundesliga appearances and provided five assists during his first season in Germany, he may not be staying there for long. A product of Le Havre’s youth academy, the Stains-born player joined Olympique Lyonnais in the summer of 2022, where he was regarded as a promising young talent.
