Hornchurch bring in Crewe midfielder Powell

National League newcomers Hornchurch have signed midfielder Jack Powell following his release by Crewe Alexandra. The 32-year-old made 32 appearances in all competitions for the Railwaymen last season as they finished 11th in League Two. Powell previously played for Hornchurch boss Daryl McMahon at Ebbsfleet United and made 132 League Two appearances for Crawley during four seasons with the Red Devils. "He is a terrific footballer who has had a fantastic career to date," McMahon told the club website. "He is still hungry and wants to be successful."
