Details of Real Madrid’s pre-season plans: Key dates and fixtures Real Madrid’s biggest stars are in action at the ongoing FIFA World Cup, but those who missed out on national team call-ups, the injured players, and those whose nations did not make the cut are enjoying their vacations ahead of the new season. Their relaxation, however, is time-bound and the deadline is drawing closer as Real Madrid’s pre-season is scheduled to kick off in just over a week. The team’s new manager Jose Mourinho will officially take over and oversee training from later this month once the pre-season begins, and Mundo Deportivo brings a brief overview of the club’s pre-season. The kickoff date As relayed by the Spanish outlet, Los Blancos will officially kick off their new pre-season on July 13th with Mourinho taking over at the helm. Federico Valverde and Arda Guler, whose countries suffered group stage eliminations, will also join the pre-season very soon , likely as early as the second week. Antonio Rudiger and Denzel Dumfries will likely be the next to join as both players were knocked out in the Round of 32. The latter’s signing, however, has not been made official yet. Dumfries will join pre-season quite early after WC exit. That will be followed by a rigorous schedule of training and practice. Most of Real Madrid’s preseason will be held at the Valdebebas and there is currently no plan to hold any campaign or tour in the United States of America or in Asia. After all, most of the team will miss the majority of the pre-season. What is clear, however, is that the team will have a friendly game against Deportivo La Coruna in the Teresa Herrera Trophy and one clash against Fiorentina in Austria. The latter of the two games is scheduled for August 1st and most of the team will be back by then.
