Manchester City Are Keeping Tabs On The Situation Of This Chelsea Midfielder: Should Maresca Move In For Him? In a recent post on X , journalist Gianluigi Longari mentioned that Manchester City are keeping tabs on the situation of Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez. It is believed that the Mancunian outfit would have to compete with Real Madrid and Arsenal in the race to sign the Argentine talent this summer. Fernandez’s Impressive Campaign In The Premier League The 25-year-old managed to shine with his performances for the West London club in the Premier League last season. Fernandez found the back of the net 15 times and picked up seven assists in 54 matches for Chelsea in the previous campaign across various competitions. The Argentine talent is currently among the best playmakers in the Premier League . Hence, Man City would do well to snap him up in this transfer period. His current contract at Stamford Bridge will run out in the summer of 2032, which could make it tough for the Mancunian club to sign him on a cut-price deal this off-season. Fernandez is a good tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to earn possession back for his team in the middle of the park. He doesn’t mind clearing the danger when required and is an accurate passer of the ball as well. The Argentine talent can shoot the ball with power from long range and has got the vision to create some inviting chances for his teammates in and around the opponent’s penalty area. Fernandez is full of energy and running at the centre of the park. He mainly plays as a box-to-box midfielder but can also operate in the number ten position or as a defensive midfielder if told to do so. We can expect Fernandez to bring more quality and depth to Man City’s midfield department. He is good enough to compete for a regular spot in Enzo Maresca’s starting XI next season. Fernandez is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to settle into life at the Mancunian club. Plus, Maresca knows the player well and could be the ideal man to get the best out of him at the Etihad Stadium. All in all, Man City should consider moving in for him in this transfer window.
