Chelsea Have Set Their Sights On This Real Madrid Left-Back: What Will He Bring To Stamford Bridge? In a recent report , Fichajes mentioned that Chelsea have set their sights on Real Madrid left-back Alvaro Carreras. It has been mentioned that the Blues are eyeing a move to bring the Spanish defender to Stamford Bridge this off-season. Carreras’ Solid Campaign In La Liga Carreras enjoyed a good run of form at the Spanish club as he has produced a handful of impressive displays for them on the left side of their defence. The 23-year-old scored two times and earned three assists in 40 appearances for Real Madrid last season across multiple competitions. The Spanish sensation is currently among the best left-backs in La Liga. Hence, the Blues would do well to bring him to England in this transfer window. His current contract at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium will run out in the summer of 2031, which could make it tough for Chelsea to sign him on the cheap later this year. He doesn’t mind clearing the danger when required and is a good passer as well from the left flank. The Spanish talent can even chip in by scoring and creating a few important goals for his team going forward. Carreras is primarily a left-back but can also operate as a centre-back if told to do so. However, there are some question marks over whether he can adapt to the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Blues manage to get a deal done for him this summer. We can expect Carreras to bring more quality and depth to Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso’s defence. He is more than capable of nailing down a regular first-team spot at Stamford Bridge next season. Furthermore, Carreras would serve as an ideal replacement for Marc Cucurella at the West London club. At 23, the best is yet to come from the Spaniard. He will also help Chelsea challenge across all fronts in the coming years. All in all, Alonso should focus on getting him on board before the end of this transfer window.
