Liverpool ready to give Real Madrid another €12.5m as midfielder deal sought
Liverpool ready to give Real Madrid another €12.5m as midfielder deal sought Last month, Real Madrid pocketed €20m after Liverpool swooped to sign Spain winger Victor Munoz from Osasuna. The Bernabeu club had a 50% sell-on clause from the deal they did with Los Rojillos in 2025, and that allowed them to receive half of the €40m paid by the Premier League side when they triggered the 23-year-old’s release clause. That represented good business for Real Madrid, given they €6m from the initial sale of Munoz, who came through the ranks at La Fabrica before being sold. And as it turns out, he may not be only ex-Los Blancos player to join Liverpool this summer. According to Ideal , Liverpool have joined the race to sign Sergio Arribas, who is currently at Almeria. Benfica have also been pushing to sign the attacking midfielder , but there is a chance that they are beaten to his signature by the Premier League giants. Benfica are currently only willing to pay €20m for Arribas, who scored 25 goals in La Liga Hypermotion last season, whereas Almeria are asking for €25m. This gives Liverpool a window of opportunity to make their move, although they have not yet officially approached the Andalusian club over a possible transfer. Real Madrid have 50% of Arribas’ rights If Almeria manage to get their desired €25m from either Liverpool or Benfica, it would see Real Madrid pocket another €12.5m from the sale of one of their former players. As was the case with Munoz, they have a 50% sell-on clause as part of the deal to sell him three years ago, and that will come into effect when a transfer is complete. It remains to be seen whether Arribas does leave Almeria this summer, although it does seem very likely. When it happens, Real Madrid will be ready and waiting to receive yet another payment.
