Report – The real hurdle behind Real Madrid’s struggle to sell 23-year-old midfielder

Report – The real hurdle behind Real Madrid’s struggle to sell 23-year-old midfielder Real Madrid are looking for a big sale from their existing squad, and Eduardo Camavinga is one of the names most commonly linked with such a departure. The French midfielder has not been at his best for a long time now after all, and his prominence in the Real Madrid dynamics took a massive dip last season. Jose Mourinho, who is now in charge of Real Madrid’s first team, does not count on the player either, leading Los Blancos to prioritise him as an exit-linked name. There has, however, not been much progress in terms of offers or negotiations. The big hurdle As reported by journalist Roberto Morales (h/t Bernabeu Digital ), the primary reason behind Real Madrid’s difficulty in selling Camavinga has to do with their financial expectations. (Photo by Adam Pretty/Getty Images) Over the past year and a half, the Frenchman’s valuation has taken a massive dip owing to his poor fitness record, form, and decreased prominence for Real Madrid. His current valuation stands at just about €50 million. Real Madrid, however, are refusing to sell him for a low fee despite the blatant depreciation and continue to demand a premium from suitors – something that interested clubs are understandably unwilling to sign up for. The Premier League is seen as the best possible destination for the player with Manchester United being the primary source of interest. Real Madrid, however, are hoping for a sum of close to €60 million to €70 million which seems unreasonable. A complicated sale Camavinga is reluctant to leave. (Photo by Denis Doyle/Getty Images) Real Madrid are pushing for a higher sum simply because the fee they earn will directly decide how much they can spend on other targets this summer. Their expectations, however, seem to be far too high given the player’s current form and they will need him to massively prove his worth in pre-season . After all, he is not even playing at the FIFA World Cup. As matters stand, Real Madrid are expected to block Camavinga’s transfer if an offer of their liking does not arrive, and all eyes will thus be on how negotiations proceed. Should they not end up transferring the French midfielder, however, the focus will turn to one of Aurelien Tchouameni or Federico Valverde to make an exit from the midfield.
