Barcelona open talks to bring back former academy prospect – report Mallorca’s relegation to the Segunda Division has completely altered the landscape surrounding Jan Virgili’s future, and Barcelona are already exploring the possibility of bringing the winger back to the club. According to SPORT , contact has been established between Barça and Mallorca over a potential return for the 19-year-old, who departed last summer in a deal worth €3.5 million.  Less than a year later, circumstances have changed significantly, turning the operation into a potentially attractive market opportunity. It must be remembered that the player’s release clause was reduced from €30 million to €12 million on July 1 following Mallorca’s relegation, while Barcelona retain a 40% stake in any future sale as well as a right of first refusal.  In this regard, the Catalans could recover the player for just €7 million . Barcelona assessing whether to activate their option Despite the growing speculation, the outlet mentions that Virgili reported back for pre-season with Mallorca and completed his medical examinations as normal, awaiting clarity over what comes next. Meanwhile, within Camp Nou, Deco is believed to be seriously considering the possibility of re-signing the former academy talent , although a final decision has yet to be made. Barcelona’s sporting department had already been informed of the situation several weeks ago and are now evaluating whether the winger fits into Hansi Flick’s plans for the coming campaign. At the moment, strengthening the flanks is not among Barça’s immediate priorities, especially with Raphinha, Anthony Gordon, Roony Bardghji and Lamine Yamal already competing for places. Even so, the club sees value in revisiting the case given the favourable financial conditions now available.
