Lyon dealt blow in their pursuit of Rangers’ Youssef Chermiti In their search for a new striker, Olympique Lyonnais have turned their attention to Glasgow Rangers striker Youssef Chermiti (22). However, the Ligue 1 side have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of the Portugal youth international, according to a report from  Foot Mercato .  Following his €8m move from Everton last summer, the Portugal U21 international excelled in Scotland. In all competitions, he scored 15 goals and registered five assists in 41 matches in all competitions. It was reported last week that talks had taken place between Lyon and Rangers.  Foot Mercato  now understands that €20m will not be sufficient to acquire Chermiti’s services, as OL had hoped. Rangers are desperate to retain the young centre-forward this summer, the publication adds. It remains to be seen whether, faced with this setback, Lyon will continue in their pursuit of the Portuguese forward. Hearts’ Claudio Braga (26) had also been touted as a potential target.
