Barcelona rekindle efforts to sign 18-year-old Belgian top talent

Barcelona rekindle efforts to sign 18-year-old Belgian top talent Barcelona have yet to make any significant moves in the market since signing Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United. However, following the sale of Ansu Fati and the expected loan exit for Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Barcelona are once again looking out for options in the market. One of the players who has emerged as a priority may not necessarily relate to the first team and is more of a target for the youth department. Barcelona renew efforts to sign Bisiwu According to Mundo Deportivo , Barcelona have made a renewed effort to sign Jesse Bisiwu from Club Brugge this summer. Deco travelled to Belgium to discuss the Bisiwu deal. The report suggests Barcelona sporting director Deco and chief of the scouting department, Joao Amaral, had already travelled to Belgium to discuss a move for Bisiwu. The Catalans have maintained communication with Club Brugge as they look to get their hands on the explosive winger this summer. It must be noted that Bisiwu has been on Barça’s radar for quite some time now and after their initial offer was turned down, the Catalans are hoping to convince the Belgian outfit to sell the teenage attacker. What does Bisiwu bring to the table? Barcelona are trying to replicate the Bardghji deal with Bisiwu. (Photo by Alex Caparros/Getty Images) A left winger by trade, Bisiwu is known for his technical quality on the flanks. He has an imposing figure as well, standing at 1.85m. Although the Belgian hasn’t really scored a lot of goals, he did score thrice in the UEFA Youth League last season, playing for Club Brugge. The report suggests Barcelona are planning a Roony Bardghji-like approach for Bisiwu – signing him up on a cut-price deal and making him a part of the pre-season campaign. If the forward impresses during pre-season, he could possibly earn a place directly in the first team next season, although that possibility has not been mentioned in the report.
