Notably, with just one year remaining on his contract at Borussia Dortmund, the Bundesliga side could be persuaded to cash in rather than risk losing the forward for nothing next year.  That situation has strengthened Barcelona’s position during negotiations and increased optimism that an agreement can be reached soon. Should the clubs finalise the transfer in time, Adeyemi is even expected to report for Barcelona’s pre-season preparations as early as next Monday, allowing him to begin working under Flick immediately. Flick is looking to build a frontline capable of pressing aggressively, making intelligent runs and offering pace in transition.  Those qualities have made Adeyemi one of Barcelona’s preferred attacking targets this summer, with the coaching staff convinced he can add a different dimension to the squad. If the deal is completed, the Borussia Dortmund winger will become Barcelona’s second signing following the arrival of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United.  Meanwhile, the club continue to work on completing Joao Cancelo’s permanent transfer while also exploring the possibility of signing Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid, although that operation remains considerably more difficult.
