'Fantastic' plans for redevelopment a 'must-do' - Randall
[Getty Images] Nottingham Forest chairman Nicholas Randall KC says all parties are "pretty close to being on the same page" in regards to the redevelopment of the Peter Taylor Stands at the City Ground. Proposals to demolish the stand and replace it with a new 10,000-seater one that would increase the stadium's capacity to about 42,000 have been public since last year, but work is yet to begin. Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis wants to eventually increase capacity to 50,000. "We're very much hoping we're going to land planning permission in September," Randall told BBC Radio Nottingham. "We seem to have everybody pretty close to being on the same page. Maybe some people are on the page before the page we want to be on, but I think it's going in the right direction. "It's a must-do for us. It's quite clear that the developments at other clubs show you can't really be a sustainable Premier League team for the long term if you only have 30,000 capacity. "You have to go through these processes, which are sometimes frustrating and difficult to understand - but we have to keep calm and keep moving forward. "We know what the goal is and we think the plans are fantastic. We know the vast majority of people in the area and community want it to happen. We have to keep pushing and trust the process."
