Indeed, the report points out that Real Madrid are likely to resist Jose Mourinho’s attempts to sign a new midfielder this summer, as the club simply do not have the economic flexibility to do so. This is a considerable blow given that Real Madrid’s midfield does lack quality and consistency, especially after the exits of key veterans Toni Kroos and Luka Modric. With Tchouameni signing a new deal, his departure this summer is pretty much ruled out, leaving Eduardo Camavinga as the only other viable candidate. While it is no secret that Mourinho wants Camavinga to leave, the player isn’t too keen on leaving Santiago Bernabeu and wants to fight for his place in the team. Real Madrid have been linked with a move for several midfielders this summer. But unless they can get Camavinga out, a move for midfield target seems unlikely.
