Leeds United prepare new Zion Suzuki approach, Illan Meslier replacement

Leeds United prepare new Zion Suzuki approach, Illan Meslier replacement As reported by TUTTOmercatoWEB , Leeds United are keen on Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki. The West Yorkshire club are in the market for a new keeper after the departure of Illan Meslier, who left on a free at the end of last season and is set to join Arsenal. An initial approach for the Japan man was rebuffed but they are preparing a new move. Suzuki has been garnering plaudits for his performances between the sticks for the Gialloblù over the past two seasons and is coming off representing Japan at the World Cup, from which the Samurai Blue were knocked out in the Round of 32 courtesy of Brazil. Valued by Transfermarkt at €20 million, the 23-year-old has three more years remaining on his €930,000-per-year contract with Parma, who have thus far seem reluctant to listening to offers for him, though Leeds United are expected to keep pursuing. Suzuki has also been linked with Juventus and other Premier League sides Everton, Tottenham, and Aston Villa recently. Suzuki on the rise His recent performances at the World Cup have only put Suzuki that much more in the limelight; he has been getting attention for a while because of his precocious performances for Parma. So it’s only a matter of time before he leaves, and Leeds may prove to be an adequate landing spot for him. He could stake a claim for the first-choice spot at Elland Road right away, and even if overall team performances result in relegation, we have often seen keepers come out of such campaigns with a lot of credit, given that bad defences often result in more shots to face, thereby creating more noteworthy opportunities.
