France’s Adrien Rabiot on Morocco: ‘We didn’t have to worry a lot about this team.’ It is fair to say that Adrien Rabiot was confident heading into France’s 2026 FIFA World Cup quarter-final against Morocco on Thursday.  These two sides met in the 2022 edition of the World Cup at the semi-final stage. On that occasion,  Les Bleus  came out 2-0 winners and the feat was repeated in Boston on Thursday. Despite missing a first-half penalty, captain Kylian Mbappé opened the scoring in the second half with a sublime curled effort before Ousmane Dembélé doubled the advantage just six minutes later. The Atlas Lions had no response and have now crashed out of the competition. Morocco struggled to pose a threat throughout. Injuries, particularly one to Ismael Saibari, certainly had a hand in what was an underwhelming showing from the North African side.  “We felt that, in the moments when we didn’t have the ball, they weren’t very dangerous,”  Rabiot told  BeIn Sport  in the wake of the 2-0 win, which sees  Les Bleus  progress to a third successive World Cup semi-finals.  The AC Milan midfielder continued,  “We didn’t have to worry a lot about this team. It is the feeling that we had on the pitch. It’s a shock. But they are still a team that, at any moment, can make the difference because they have extraordinary individuals. That’s why you always have to stay vigilant.” GFFN | Luke Entwistle
