Oxford's Romeny and Prelec depart

Indonesian Romeny has joined Dutch side Fortuna Sittard on loan with an option to make it permanent, while Prelec has moved to Polish team Jagiellonia Białystok for an undisclosed fee. Romeny arrived at the club in early 2025 for what was at the time a club record fee before going on to make 32 appearances for the U's, scoring one goal, which came in a 3-2 defeat to Coventry City. Oxford signed Prelec initially on loan in the summer of 2025 before triggering an option to make the deal permanent in February of last season. The 25-year-old went on to make 25 appearances for Oxford, scoring on one occasion. It will be unlikely that the U's will be able to add to their squad this summer after being placed under a transfer embargo by the English Football League on Thursday. Oxford said that they hope to have the embargo lifted by the January transfer window and that their focus for the summer remains on maintaining the current group of players.
