Images – Mourinho and his new Real Madrid staff take charge at Valdebebas Jose Mourinho has wasted no time settling into life as Real Madrid manager, reporting to the club’s training headquarters several days before the official start of pre-season.  The Portuguese coach shared a photo from Valdebebas wearing the Real Madrid crest, offering supporters their first glimpse of him fully immersed in his new role. Latest Real Madrid news confirms that, although the squad is not due to return until July 13, Mourinho has already begun laying the foundations for the new campaign.  Alongside his coaching staff, the Portuguese is using the extra time to finalise preparations, assess the squad and organise the club’s plans ahead of an important season. Mourinho gets to work While most players are still enjoying the final days of their summer break and a few are at the World Cup, Mourinho has settled into his office at Valdebebas and begun working with the staff he specifically assembled for this project. His backroom team includes assistant coach Joao Tralhao, fitness specialist Antonio Dias, analyst Pedro Machado, performance analyst Roberto Merella and goalkeeping coach Nuno Santos.  Former Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira has also joined the coaching setup , adding experience and familiarity with the club’s culture. Rather than waiting for pre-season to officially begin, Mourinho has been using these days to evaluate the current squad and identify priorities before the first training session.  Players Mourinho have right now When players begin reporting back, Mourinho will initially work with a group that includes Andriy Lunin, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alvaro Carreras, Dean Huijsen, Raúl Asencio, Eduardo Camavinga, Gonzalo Garcia and Franco Mastantuono. At the same time, several members of the squad remain unavailable because of injury, including Eder Militao, Rodrygo and Ferland Mendy. As a result, the coaching staff now has the task of preparing the available players for a demanding summer schedule, with fitness work expected to be a major focus during the opening weeks.
