Arthurs joins Crawley Town to 'win promotion'

New Crawley Town signing Jude Arthurs says he joined the Reds to "win promotion" back into League One. "One million per cent." The 24-year-old made over 250 appearances for Bromley, helping them win promotion from the National League in 2024, followed by winning the League Two title in 2025-2026. The midfielder was out of contract with the Ravens and has chosen to return to League Two with Crawley Town. He told BBC Radio Sussex: "I wouldn't have come here if I didn't think we have a chance of going up. One million per cent. "Without a doubt, we're going to be at the top of the table, challenging with all the big teams. "I had conversations with lots of people, but when I spoke to the gaffer here [Colin Kazeem-Richards], he put forward the ambition of the club forward, and it matched where I wanted to go. "This club has been in League One previously, so it's not a million miles away, and I think we're definitely going to make that happen this year." Arthurs spent six years at Bromley and captained them on a number of occasions as they clinched the League Two title in May. He admits it was time for a change and that Crawley's offer of a two-year deal , with the option of a further 12 months, helped make up his mind: "It was hard leaving, but ultimately, I'm ready for a new challenge and a fresh start. "The last two seasons I signed one-year deals with Bromley, so it's nice to find a new home here for the next few years and hopefully kicking on with the team." A number of Crawley fans have already been describing Arthurs as one of the club's best signings in years, which he said was lovely to hear: "It's good to get that sort of praise. Hopefully I can just repay it on the pitch and show the fans what I'm all about. "I'm an all-action midfielder. I like to get involved in everything. I like to build the play, get some goals, get some assists, and give 100% for the team and the club." The 24-year-old is also friends with Crawley's 2023-2024 play-off final goal hero Danilo Orsi who rejoined the club under previous boss Scott Lindsey in January 2026. "I kind of refer to him as the Michael Cheek [prolific Bromley striker] of Crawley. He's got that legendary status. "I'm sure if Dan can get on the pitch again, I'm sure he'll be firing, and I can get a few assists off him as well."
