[Getty Images] Barnet have signed defender Will Wright on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract at Swindon Town. The 29-year-old made 34 appearances, scoring one goal, in League Two last season. Wright joined the Robins in July 2024 following spells with Crawley Town, whom he helped to promotion in the 2023-24 season, and Gillingham. He told the club's website: "The club is going in one direction and I'm hoping to play a part as it continues to go in that direction. "My versatility probably helps with how reliable I've been, in terms of being fit and available. It's always something I've had growing up and that I take pride in, being able to play in multiple positions." Wright becomes manager Dean Brennan's ninth signing of the summer as they look to strengthen after finishing eighth in League Two last season, two points adrift of the play-off places. "Will is technically excellent, an amazing set-piece taker, has got a good football brain and I think he'll give good nous to the group, because we are quite a young group," Brennan said.
