Famalicão’s Hugo Oliveira to succeed Gary O’Neil as Strasbourg manager Famalicão head coach Hugo Oliveira will join Strasbourg and succeed Gary O’Neil in the dugout, according to L’Equipe .  The Portuguese is expected to land in France on Sunday to sign his contract, before leading his first training session the following Monday. Strasbourg were in the market for a manager following O’Neil’s defection to promoted Premier League side Ipswich Town FC. L’Equipe  understands that Strasbourg will pay a €2m compensation fee to Famalicão, who finished fifth last season with Oliveira in the dugout. The 47-year-old was Marco Silva’s assistant at Hull City FC, Watford, Everton and Fulham FC. Oliveira was competing with former Celtic FC head coach Wilfried Nancy for the Strasbourg job. Strasbourg will play Marseille away for the opening Ligue 1 game. GFFN | Bastien Cheval
