Liverpool's moment: Newcastle fear agreed €60m deal will be hijacked
Liverpool's moment: Newcastle fear agreed €60m deal will be hijacked Liverpool have their moment. Newcastle United fear a €60m will be hijacked - what's one more time? Liverpool have made a real habit out of hijacking Newcastle United deals. It happened with Dominik Szoboszlai back in 2023, then again in 2025 with Hugo Ekitike and once more this summer. The Magpies thought they'd signed Victor Munoz from Osasuna - or at least, felt he was about to sign after a medical. Instead, Liverpool swooped in to sign the Spaniard for themselves. And all of this is without mentioning Alexander Isak, someone who very much was a Newcastle player but Liverpool tore him away last year. The Magpies will be sick of it. But how about one more time? Journalist Florian Plettenberg claims Newcastle have agreed a deal with Freiburg to sign Johan Manzambi. We say Liverpool should listen. We're massive fans of the midfielder , who profiles as one of the best all-around players at his age bracket. Manzambi offers value both in attack and defence - exactly the kind of long-term signing Liverpool need. And with talk that Curtis Jones is about to leave the club , Manzambi would be a dream replacement. Exactly the kind of signing Liverpool should be making, especially at €60m. Newcastle are set to get themselves a gem here, but then they've thought that before and failed to get it over the line. Liverpool are frequently the club that stops them doing that. And we'd really like it if they could repeat the trick here. Manzambi is the kind of talent who doubles in value after a high-profile season - and that season will be next year. Time to take the opportunity while you still can.
