PSG looking to pull an Adeyemi-type deal for Barcelona forward this summer – report There has been much speculation surrounding Ferran Torres’ future at Barcelona, with the Spaniard now shockingly finding himself on PSG’s radar. It appears the reigning European champions want to sign Ferran as a direct replacement for the departing Goncalo Ramos – a role in which he will largely deputise for Ousmane Dembele. PSG eyeing an Adeyemi-type transfer According to Diario SPORT , PSG intend to approach the Ferran situation in much the same way Barcelona did when they signed Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund. The Parisians are adamant that Ferran’s price is capped given his contractual situation, and they have no intention of stretching anywhere near the €50 million valuation Barcelona have placed on him. Reports in France had suggested an offer in the region of €40 million, though the eventual proposal could well come in lower. Interestingly, Barcelona have themselves grown increasingly open to the idea of cashing in, keen to maximise any fee for a forward whose renewal has stalled. Everything hinges on Ferran The key to the whole situation now lies with the player himself. A move that seemed highly improbable just weeks ago has edged considerably closer, with PSG having mobilised their resources following the sale of Ramos to Milan. The influence of Luis Enrique, who shares an excellent relationship with Ferran from their time together with the Spanish national team, is understood to have been pivotal in convincing the forward. PSG are in no rush, however. They are content to let Ferran complete his World Cup campaign with Spain before looking to finalise personal terms and then opening formal talks with Barcelona. Why Ferran may be tempted Ferran had never previously entertained the idea of leaving the Camp Nou, but a combination of factors may shift his thinking. With Julian Alvarez the overwhelming priority in attack and Barcelona having reinforced their wide areas with the likes of Adeyemi , Ferran risks slipping further down the pecking order and seeing his minutes reduced. Barcelona’s lack of urgency over a contract extension has only added to that uncertainty, while PSG have offered a clear and direct show of interest, both financially and in terms of sporting opportunity.
