Fortuna Sittard bring Indonesian international back to the Eredivisie from Oxford United Fortuna Sittard have confirmed the signing of 26-year-old Oxford United striker Ole Romeny on loan for the 2026/2027 season. There is no indication that Fortuna Sittard and Oxford United have agreed a future purchase option for the Indonesian striker. For Fortuna Sittard, the hope is that Romeny will provide them with the goals that they have lost with the departure of Kaj Sierhuis this summer, while for Romeny is it a chance to play football after struggling with Oxford United. Romeny joined Oxford United in January 2025 from FC Utrecht , where he had scored three goals in 32 games. Romeny struggled with Oxford United, scoring just once in 32 games. This solitary goal came during the 14 games he played at the back end of the 2024/2025 season. Last season, Romeny only played 18 games for Oxford United and failed to score. His best individual season remains the 2022/2023 season with FC Emmen in the Eredivisie, where he scored 12 goals in 39 games. This prompted a move to Utrecht, but since then Romeny has struggled to rediscover the form he had shown with Emmen.
