Manchester City Have Stepped Up Their Efforts To Sign This Lille Midfielder: Good Fit For Maresca? In a recent post on X , respected journalist David Ornstein mentioned that Manchester City have stepped up their efforts to sign Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi this summer. It has been claimed that the Mancunian outfit are eyeing a move to bring the Moroccan talent to the Etihad Stadium in this transfer period. Bouaddi’s Impressive Rise In Ligue 1 Bouaddi enjoyed a solid campaign at the French club after he put in a series of impressive performances at the heart of their midfield. The Morocco international participated in 42 matches for Lille in the previous campaign, picking up one assist in the process across various competitions. The 18-year-old is currently among the most gifted midfielders in Ligue 1. Hence, it is no wonder that Man City are pushing hard to sign Bouaddi this off-season. His current contract at Lille will expire in the summer of 2029. Hence, the Mancunian giants would have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about recruiting him later this year. (Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images) Will Bouaddi Be A Good Fit For Manchester City? Bouaddi is a solid tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when required and is a good passer as well from midfield. The Morocco international is an energetic runner with the ball and can create the odd chance for his teammates in the final third. Bouaddi is primarily a central midfielder but can also serve as a defensive midfielder or play as a right-back if required. However, there are some question marks over whether he can make a smooth transition to life in Premier League football if Man City manage to land him in this transfer period. We can expect Bouaddi to add more quality and depth to Enzo Maresca’s midfield department. He has what it takes to challenge for a regular starting spot at the Mancunian club in the coming years. At 18, the future looks quite promising for Bouaddi as long as he continues to improve with each season. He is good enough to be a success story at the Etihad Stadium in the long run. All in all, Bouaddi would be a great fit for Man City’s needs in this summer transfer window.
