Chelsea goalkeeper Slonina training with Strasbourg
[Getty Images] Chelsea goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina is training with Strasbourg as he attempts to secure a move to the French club. The 22-year-old United States international, who has one senior cap, was Chelsea's third-choice goalkeeper last season and has been given the opportunity to work with the Ligue 1 side, which is also owned by BlueCo. Any move would ultimately need to be approved by new Strasbourg manager Hugo Oliveira, and no final decision has been made. Despite training under Xabi Alonso in his early sessions, Slonina is open to a move as he looks for regular first-team football, either on loan or on a permanent transfer. Slonina joined the Blues in 2022 in a £10m move from Chicago Fire. Meanwhile, Filip Jorgensen, who is also seeking a move away from Chelsea in search of more playing time, is another option for Strasbourg. However, the Denmark international is understood to be less enthusiastic about the move than Slonina at this early stage. With Slonina likely to leave, Chelsea are looking at third-choice goalkeeping options, both in-house and in the transfer market.
