OH Leuven bring in Celtic striker in an attempt to solve goalscoring issues

OH Leuven bring in Celtic striker in an attempt to solve goalscoring issues Celtic striker Shin Yamada has left the Scottish club to sign for OH Leuven in Belgium. The Japanese striker has only been loaned out by Celtic to OH Leuven, who are once again looking to solve their issue up front. For a few years now the side have struggled to find a reliable goal scorer up front, an issue that has been holding them back. Despite his struggles with Celtic, OH Leuven will be hoping that Yamada can provide them with some firepower up top. Yamada, 26, joined Celtic in 2025 from Kawasaki in the J League. During the 2024 season he scored an impressive 22 goals in 57 games for the side, earning him the move to Scotland. However, prior to joining Celtic he had only scored four goals in 22 games in the J League, and his struggles continued in Scotland. In 11 games for Celtic he failed to score, and in January he was loaned out the 2 Bundesliga and Preussen Munster. In 10 games in the German second tier he scored three goals. GBeNeFN  |  Ben Jackson
