Sunderland’s Timothée Pembélé to complete permanent Le Havre move

Sunderland’s Timothée Pembélé to complete permanent Le Havre move AFC Sunderland’s Timothée Pembélé (23) is reportedly set to join Le Havre, according to information from L’Équipe. Having been on loan at the Normandy-based club during the 2024-25 season, and again since the winter of 2026, the defender is expected to make the move permanent shortly and sign a long-term contract. This is a fine coup for HAC, who had made signing the Beaumont-sur-Oise native one of their summer priorities. Having made 35 appearances for the club since his arrival at the Stade Océane, Pembélé has started 15 matches and scored one goal. Following Kaito Mizuta (26) and Vincent Sasso (35), he is set to become Le Havre’s third signing of the transfer window, with the club expected to bolster their squad further shortly with the signing of Amir Richardson (24). A product of the Paris Saint-Germain academy, the former France Under-23 international never established himself there and spent time on loan at Girondins de Bordeaux, before moving to England, where he also failed to make his mark for the Black Cats, making just eight appearances.
