Goalkeeper Muller joins Aberdeen on two-year deal

[Getty Images] Goalkeeper Marius Muller hopes to "have plenty to celebrate" after joining Aberdeen from Wolfsburg. The 33-year-old has agreed a two-year deal at Pittodrie. "It feels nice to be here," Muller told club media. "It's all moved very quickly, but I'm happy to be in Scotland. "I hope to bring quality to the team through my experience and mentality. As a goalkeeper, you know the moments when you have to stay calm and help to lead the team. "We have to be one team – the players and the supporters in the stands. I hope they will see that I will give my all. They will see that I love to celebrate with them. "I want to see a lot of fireworks this season. I hope we have plenty to celebrate and we'll see what the season brings." The keeper consulted fellow German Denis Geiger about Aberdeen, with the midfielder having been on loan at Pittodrie last season. Starting his career at Kaiserslautern, also turned out for Red Bull Leipzig and Schalke in his homeland and had a four-year spell with Swiss club Luzern, where he won the Swiss Cup in 2021. And Aberdeen manager Stephen Robinson said: "Marius is an experienced goalkeeper who has consistently performed at a high level throughout his career. "He'll add real competition, experience and leadership to our goalkeeping group. We believe his character and professionalism will be a real asset to the squad, both on and off the pitch."
