‘I can’t wait to stand between the posts at De Kuip’: Feyenoord’s new goalkeeper looking forward to playing in the Eredivisie Feyenoord have a new goalkeeper. They have been eyeing up a move for Tjark Ernst all summer and have finally made the deal happen, with the 23-year-old German goalkeeper joining from Hertha Berlin and signing a deal until 2030. Ernst looks set to become the sides new first choice, with ESPN reporting that Timon Wellenreuther is receiving interest from Wolfsburg, who were recently relegated to the 2 Bundesliga. Speaking to the media, Ernst said ‘ I can’t wait to stand between the posts at De Kuip. I know for sure that the European matches are experienced with great intensity as well ‘. Ernst joined Hertha Berlin back in 2022 from VFL Bochum and made his debut for the club during the 2022/2023 season when the capital club were still in the Bundesliga. For the past three years since Hertha Berlin were relegated, Ernst has been the sides number one. He has played 97 games for the club. He joins a Feyenoord side looking to return to challenging PSV for the Eredivisie title. They have moved on from Robin van Persie and have been active in bringing new players into the squad.
