Devlin 'doesn't get enough credit' - Shankland

Cammy Devlin (right) has been reunited with Lawrence Shankland at Rangers [SNS] Lawrence Shankland is convinced Cammy Devlin will flourish at Rangers and believes the midfielder "doesn't get enough credit". The striker says he's "buzzing" to link up with his former Hearts team-mate and insists the Australian can excel at Ibrox. Devlin was signed as a free agent after leaving Tynecastle earlier this summer, having played an integral role in the club's Scottish Premiership title push. He has been lauded for his off-the-ball midfield work, but some Rangers fans have expressed doubts about his ability in possession. However, Shankland feels Devlin does not get the praise he merits for his all-round game and is backing the 28-year-old to show what he can do for the Govan side. "I'm buzzing for him - he's buzzing to be here as well. He's been talking to me about it since he signed, he's delighted," said Shankland. "He'll bring energy. But he probably doesn't get enough credit for how good a player he actually is. "Until his injury last year he was probably one of the best midfielders in the league. He was playing really at the top of his game. "He'll look to rediscover that form as quickly as possible when he gets back into training. "He retrieves the ball so well - he just wins it back for you and the team can progress from there. "Last season when he was in form he added to his game. From when he started playing with Hearts to now, Cammy's a much better player than he was at the start."
