Roma willing to sacrifice Manchester United and Chelsea target Manu Koné to boost finances

Roma willing to sacrifice Manchester United and Chelsea target Manu Koné to boost finances AS Roma are reportedly willing to part ways with Manu Koné (25) in order to shore up their finances and settle their dispute with UEFA, which recently fined them €6m for failing to comply with their settlement agreement, according to reports in La Gazzetta dello Sport . Under contract until 2029, the Colombes-born player could bring in around €55m for the Italian club should he be transferred this summer. Any sale would be accompanied by savings on the Frenchman’s salary, estimated at €5.2m gross, and on the amortisation of his contract, amounting to €3.8m. Should he leave, Manchester United appear to be the most keen suitors looking to secure Koné’s services, following his strong World Cup performance with France. Chelsea, who also seem to be interested in the midfielder, could soon go on the offensive themselves in an attempt to beat the Red Devils to the punch. Having made 37 appearances across all competitions for the Giallorossi during the 2025-26 season, the former Toulouse FC player proved decisive on five occasions, scoring two goals and providing three assists.
