OH Leuven and KV Mechelen interested in Marseille goalkeeper
OH Leuven and KV Mechelen interested in Marseille goalkeeper HNB are reporting that both KV Mechelen and OH Leuven are interested in signing Marseille goalkeeper Jelle Van Neck. The 22-year-old, formerly of the Club Brugge academy, has been with Marseille since 2022 and is their third choice goalkeeper. OH Leuven expect to lose Tobe Leysen this transfer window and see Van Neck as a replacement for the talented Belgian goalkeeper. KV Mechelen is trying to move on from Ortwin De Wofl after Nacho Miras took over as number one last season, so want to bring in Van Neck to compete with Miras for the starting spot. Van Neck is likely to prefer a move to Belgium given that he is yet to make a first team appearance for Marseille. The 22-year-old has spent most of his time in French football playing for Marseille B and as part of the sides academy. Ban Necke has also been capped at youth level by the Belgian national team. OH Leuven, if they move on from Leysen, should be the preferable option for the Marseille goalkeeper. It would be a better option if he wants to get first team football, as Miras was one of the better goalkeepers in the Pro League last season and is likely to remain as KV Mechelen’s number one option in goal.
