Former Leicester City midfielder remains in Belgium following release from Antwerp Former Leicester City midfielder Dennis Praet has a new club. The midfielder, who left Leicester City a few seasons ago, was released by Antwerp at the end of the 2025/2026 season. He has been picked up by KV Mechelen and signs a two year deal with the club. KV Mechelen become the third club that Praet has played for in Belgium. The midfielder began his career with Anderlecht, making his debut during the 2011/2012 season. After impressing over five season with Anderlecht, Praet left to join Sampdoria. Praet played over 100 games for Sampdoria over a three season spell, scoring four goals. In the summer of 2019 he made his way to Leicester City and the Premier League. However, he was never quite able to cement his place at Leicester City. After 60 appearances he was loaned out to Torino for the 2021/2022 campaign. On his return, he spent two more seasons with Leicester City before leaving on a permanent basis to join Antwerp. Praet has spent the last two seasons since leaving Leicester City with Antwerp, playing 67 games and scoring one goal. GBeNeFN | Ben Jackson
