Goalkeeper Anastasiadis signs for Hibernian
Greece international Ariana Anastasiadis has signed for Hibernian after the goalkeeper left Kifisia in her country's top flight. The 25-year-old has signed a one-year contract, with the Scottish Women's Premier League club having the option to extend it by a year. Hibs head coach Joelle Murray said of her fourth signing of the summer: "She's a talented goalkeeper with excellent potential and a strong mentality. "She has already shown she can perform at a high level, having been involved with the Greek national team, and we believe our environment is the perfect place for her to continue her development. "Ariana will add quality and competition to our goalkeeping group." Anastasiadis started her senior career with Le Havre, helping them gain promotion as second-tier champions in 2020. She has also won top-flight titles and domestic cups in both Cyprus and Croatia with Apollon and Osijek respectively. Last season, Kifisia finished ninth of the 14 teams in the Greek top flight and she won her only cap so far in a 1-1 friendly draw with Bosnia-Herzegovina in December. Anastasiadis added: "After meeting the team and having a few sessions here, I'm delighted with the professionalism and the ambition."
