Official | Kaiserslautern take Hoffenheim striker Erencan Yardımcı (24) on loan Hoffenheim and Kaiserslautern have officially concluded a loan deal for Turkish striker Erencan Yardımcı. The 24-year-old will spend a second consecutive season in the 2. Bundesliga with the Pfälzer Red Devils. Sky Germany – as relayed by Transfermarkt – reports that Lautern will pay a €500,000 fee to secure Yardımcı as part of the deal. Additionally, there is an obligatory purchase option in the €5m range embedded in the contract. Who is Erencan Yardımcı? Widely regarded as something of a flop from Hoffenheim’s perspective , Yardımcı has already been loaned out twice by his Bundesliga parent club. The Turkish U21 international scored two goals in eight Austrian Bundesliga appearances for Sturm Graz during the latter half of the 2024/25 campaign. Last season, Yardımcı got off to a strong start with Eintracht Braunschweig, yet wasn’t able to sustain his early season momentum. Yardımcı scored four goals for the Lower Saxon Lions through the first 14 rounds of 2. Bundesliga play. Unfortunately, the Izmit-native was only able to add one league goal from November 2025 onwards. Interestingly enough, Yardımcı’s last two 2. Bundesliga goals came against Kaiserslautern. His new loan club is obviously impressed with their first-hand experience of his potential. What are the details of Yardımcı’s purchase clause? These remain unclear at this point. One assumes that the two most obvious options – a purchase clause tied to appearances and one directly associated with Lautern’s promotion – are equally as probable. It is interesting to note that, should the Sky Germany information prove correct, Yardımcı will constitute a record transfer for the Palatinate club. Statements on Yardımcı’s signing “ With his speed, endurance, and intense playing style, Erencan fits very well into our system, ” 1. FCK sporting director Marcel Klos noted in a club statement. “ He enhances our attack and lends us flexibility. We’re glad we can welcome him before training camp so he can work with the team during this important phase of pre-season. ” “Erencan showed during his year in Braunschweig just how important he can be to a team,” Hoffenheim licensing head Paul Pajduch added. “ His time at Eintracht further advanced his development leading to him finding the proper environment to take his next steps on the Betzenberg. ” “ I experienced the special atmosphere at Betzenberg in April when I played here with Braunschweig, and I’m happy to now be able to play here regularly, ” the player himself said. “ I’m looking forward to getting to know my new team well over the next few days [at the] South Tyrol [training camp] and can hardly wait for the new season to begin.” GGFN | Peter Weis
