Manchester City Are In The Running To Recruit This Paris Saint-Germain Winger: Should Maresca Go For Him? In a recent report , The Daily Mail mentioned that Manchester City are in the running to recruit Paris Saint-Germain winger Ibrahim Mbaye. It has been claimed that the Mancunian club would have to rival Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Red Bull Leipzig in the race to sign the Senegalese teenager this summer. Mbaye’s Rapid Rise In French Football Mbaye enjoyed a good run of form at the French club in the previous campaign when he put in a series of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 18-year-old found the back of the net three times and secured two assists in 24 appearances for PSG last season across various competitions. The gifted teenager is currently among the best young wide players in Ligue 1 . Therefore, it is no wonder that Man City are in the mix to sign him later this year. His current contract at the French club will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it difficult for the Mancunian club to sign him on the cheap this off-season. (Photo by Franco Arland/Getty Images) Should Manchester City Boss Enzo Maresca Go For Mbaye? Mbaye can create some space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to engineer a few decent chances for his teammates to find the back of the net and is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet. The Senegalese talent deserves credit for adding some goals and assists to his game last season. Mbaye is primarily a right-winger but can also function as a left-sided wide player if asked to do so by his manager. However, only time will tell whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League if Man City manage to bring him on board later this year. We can expect Mbaye to add more firepower to Enzo Maresca’s attack in the long run. He is already good enough to compete for a regular first-team spot at Stamford Bridge in the coming seasons. At 18, the future looks quite promising for Mbaye as long as he continues to develop with each year. Thus, Maresca should think about going for a winger with his skill set before the end of this transfer window.
