Juventus urged to sign one specific player after first summer friendly

Juventus urged to sign one specific player after first summer friendly Juventus were held to a 0-0 draw by Basel in their opening pre-season friendly, but the bigger concern was Jeff Ekhator’s muscle injury, with the Italian media now urging the Bianconeri to sign a new centre-forward. Juventus’ goalless draw against Stephan Lichtsteiner’s Basel on Saturday, paired with Ekhator’s injury after just 29 minutes have made the Bianconeri’s need for a new centre-forward even more evident. Juventus desperate to sign a new striker Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttosport have similar headlines on Sunday as both Italian sports papers urge the Bianconeri to sign a new attacker this summer, particularly PSG’s Randal Kolo Muani. It is no secret that signing a goalkeeper and, at least, one centre-forward is among Juventus’ priorities for the current transfer window. It is also no secret that Kolo Muani is the Old Lady’s big target up front, yet negotiations with PSG have proved to be tricky. During their 0-0 draw against Basel, Mattia Perin saved a penalty, and Fabio Miretti missed a big opportunity in front of the Basel keeper, while summer signing Ekhator suffered a muscle injury in the first half. Jonathan David and Lois Openda are not believed to be part of Luciano Spalletti’s plans, so, besides Kolo Muani, the Bianconeri have also opened talks with Parma’s Mateo Pellegrino and enquired about Tottenham’s Richarlison. Their ex-striker Dusan Vlahovic remains available as a free agent, and Spalletti has recently opened the door to his return, as long as the striker lowers his salary demands.
