Former Borussia Dortmund winger joins NEC Nijmegen following release from Fenerbahce NEC Nijmegen have announced the signing of Emre Mor on a free after his release from Turkish giants Fenerbahce. The former Borussia Dortmund winger has signed a contract with the Eredivisie side until 2028. Mor had been training with NEC Nijmegen for a few weeks and has now earned himself a full contract. NEC Nijmegen today learned that they will face Olympiacos in the third qualifying round of the Champions League, with the game set to be played in August. Mor left Fenerbahce this summer having played for the club since 2022. He made only 49 appearances for the Turkish giants and spent the 2024/2025 season out on loan at Eyupspor and did not play a game for Fenerbahce on his return to the club. Mor was once a highly rated youngster at Danish side Nordsjaelland, earning a move to Borussia Dortmund in 2016. After just one season, with one goal in 19 games, he left to join Celta Vigo in 2017. Mor played 39 games for Celta Vigo over two seasons, scoring once. For the 2019/2020 season he was loaned to Galatasaray, but after 17 games he then left Türkiye to play for Olympiacos for the second half of the season, with the move curtailed by COVID. In 2021 he left on loan once more, this time joining Fatih Karagumruk in Turkiye. After 29 games and six goals he joined Fenerbahce in the summer of 2022 after making the move to Fatih Karagumruk permanent from Celta Vigo. During the 2023/2024 season he returned once more, on loan, to the side, playing 13 games and scoring one goal. Now 28, Mor never quite lived up to expectations but could perhaps find himself a new home at NEC Nijmegen in the Dutch top flight. GBeNeFN  |  Ben Jackson
