🚨 Rudi Garcia departs after 18 months as Belgium boss Rudi Garcia has left his role as Belgium head coach after the Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA) confirmed it would not extend the Frenchman's contract beyond the end of July. The decision brings an end to Garcia's 18-month spell in charge of the Red Devils. Garcia, who was appointed in January 2025 following the departure of Domenico Tedesco, guided Belgium to the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup, where they were narrowly beaten 2-1 by eventual champions Spain.  In a statement Garcia said: ""After discussions with the RBFA, we have decided not to extend the excellent journey we have shared over the past 18 months. I leave Belgium in League A of the UEFA Nations League and among the top eight teams in the world. I would like to thank my outstanding group of players, Sports Director Vincent Mannaert, and the fans who supported us throughout this World Cup. I wish Belgium every success as they continue the generational transition that I was proud to help initiate."" Garcia leaves with a record of 12 wins, six draws and two defeats in 20 matches in charge. His future successor will inherit a squad featuring experienced figures such as Thibaut Courtois and Kevin De Bruyne alongside a new generation of emerging Belgian talent as preparations begin for the next international cycle.
