One particular set of images stood out which signifies the change that is underway at the club. Enzo Maresca was pictured taking charge of his first City training session. It had become a regular occurrence to see Pep Guardiola directing proceedings over the past decade. However, it is now Maresca’s time which was impossible to miss in today’s images shared by the FA Cup and Carabao Cup holders. A host of Manchester City’s forgotten and fringe players have returned to training. Also, Manchester City shared a video which captured an element of their first preseason training session. Claudio Echeverri, Vitor Reis, Rico Lewis, Max Alleyne, Divin Mubama, and Stephen Mfuni were all pictured training. Each player will be hoping to impress Enzo Maresca in the coming weeks. Abdukodir Khusanov, Gianluigi Donnarumma, and Phil Foden also began their preseason today. Donnarumma and Foden have had the opportunity to rest given that they didn’t participate in the World Cup. Khusanov did play at the World Cup with Uzbekistan but their early exit from the competition allowed Khusanov to return at the beginning of Manchester City’s preseason.
