The 25-year-old moved to the Italian club from Brighton in September 2025 but made only two appearances after sustaining a serious knee injury. Lamptey started his career with Chelsea, making his Premier League debut against Arsenal before joining the Seagulls where he featured in more than 120 games. "My recovery (from injury) has gone well and I'm not too far away now. I'm looking forward to joining with the boys," he told the club website . "Throughout my football journey I've always been resilient." The full-back played for Ghana at the 2022 World Cup and has 11 senior international caps having switched his allegiance from England after making two appearances for the under-21s. "We've had good conversations about what he wants to achieve and how he feels that this is the right environment for him to flourish in," said the club's chief executive Christian Nourry. "His decision to join QPR over a myriad of other EFL Championship clubs and clubs abroad is a further signal of the growing potential of this football club." QPR have not disclosed the details of Lamptey's contract and start the new Championship season away at Portsmouth on Saturday, 15 August (15:00 BST).
