Barcelona midfield maestro to begin personal pre-season training after only one week of vacation

Barcelona midfield maestro to begin personal pre-season training after only one week of vacation Barcelona could not have had the FIFA World Cup end any better than it did. Ferran Torres’ decisive winner crowned eight Barça players as champions , and most of them did so as regular starters. Pedri was one of the many the Blaugrana players who starred for Spain, and while he may not have been a regular starter in the knockouts, his cameos were critical along the way. In the all-important final, it was Pedri’s cameo that brought stability and creativity to Spain’s buildup and the Canary Islander finished the game with the most chances created. Back to work soon All players who played in the final are expected to return to training under Hansi Flick after three weeks, and their expected time of return is the second week of August. The player will rest for one week after Spain’s win and celebrations, but he will then return to work with a personal pre-season in the Canary Islands. While continuing his vacation, the player will work with a trusted fitness coach throughout the coming weeks to maintain a controlled workload and improve his fitness. He wishes to return to Barcelona in a strong physical condition. Focus on his fitness There is no doubt that Pedri is one of the best midfielders in the world when fit, and he has proved that in recent seasons for club and in the FIFA World Cup for Spain. (Photo by Lars Baron/Getty Images) Fitness, however, has been his Achilles Heel as the player has struggled to stay fit throughout the season without setbacks time and time again. Pedri’s decision to opt for a personal pre-season is his method of ensuring his fitness improves in the upcoming campaign, especially given that he will return for the official pre-season just about a week before Barcelona’s first game. Having his body in rhythm in the weeks building up to that, needless to say, will go a long way in improving his adaptation back to the competitive rhythm. Concurrently, however, Pedri must ensure not to push himself too much given that he has barely had any rest over the past year. Recovering and coming back for the new season rejuvenated is as important as maintaining his fitness.
