Stuttgart join race for Feyenoord attacker Leo Sauer (20)
Stuttgart join race for Feyenoord attacker Leo Sauer (20) Sport Bild reports that Stuttgart are also eyeing up Feyenoord winger Leo Sauer as a potential alternative to Wolfsburg attacker Dzenan Pejcinovic. The Württemberger are currently prepared to spend upwards of €22m on Pejcinovic. Sauer – reportedly valued at just €7m by his Dutch outfit – constitutes a much lower cost alternative. Stuttgart are nevertheless not alone in their pursuit of Sauer. Bundesliga competitors Hoffenheim are reported to be far along in sealing a deal to bring the 20-year-old to Sinsheim. Matters get interesting as Sauer happens to be an alternative choice for Hoffenheim as well. The Sinsheimers prefer another player who featured for Wolfsburg last season, RB Salzburg attacker Adam Daghim. Stuttgart must acquire reinforcements for Champions League campaign Stuttgart have not yet truly bolstered their squad for the return to the Champions League. The only new player added this summer has been young Dutch striker Tim van der Leij, who only worked in the Dutch second division last season. Rumors abound that attacking pillars such as Jamie Leweling will ultimately head to the Premier League. If the last three summers are any indication, it’s safe to assume that many VfB professionals will be moving abroad. GGFN | Peter Weis
