Burnley sign Republic of Ireland international midfielder Toland

Burnley sign Republic of Ireland international midfielder Toland Burnley have completed the signing of Republic of Ireland international midfielder Tyler Toland on a free transfer. The Clarettes announced news of the deal via a post on their official club website earlier today. The 24-year-old has signed a two-year deal at Turf Moor with the option of an additional year. Toland joins Burnley off the back of a spell with their Barclays WSL2 rivals Durham. The midfielder joined The Wildcats last summer and went on to make 20 appearances for the club in Barclays WSL2, scoring one goal. Toland has also represented Sion Swifts, Manchester City, Glasgow City, Celtic, Levante and Blackburn Rovers in her career to date. On the international stage, Toland has been capped by the Republic of Ireland on 27 occasions in which she has scored one goal. After joining Burnley, Toland said “I’m buzzing to be here, and I can’t wait to get started really. “Speaking to people around the building, the club has huge ambitions, as do I for the next couple of years. It’s a very exciting project to be a part of. “I’ve played with a few of the girls before and I know of them. We’ve got a group of really good people, who want to work hard and push the club as far as it can go. “I would say I like to work hard, and I’m a team player. I like to play, but I’m not scared to do the dirty and hard work.” Burnley are preparing for their first-ever season in Barclays WSL2 following their promotion last season.
