It has now been reported that the FA Cup and Carabao Cup holders have agreed personal terms with Bouaddi and are pushing hard to sign him this summer. Manchester City have agreed personal terms with Ayyoub Bouaddi and fighting to seal a deal with Lille to sign him. Transfer reporter Nicolò Schira has reported that Manchester City have provisionally agreed personal terms with Ayyoub Bouaddi. Furthermore, Schira reports that Bouaddi would sign a contract that runs until 2031 if he signs for City. It is also reported that City remain in talks with Lille over a potential deal to sign Bouaddi, and that City are aiming to fight off competition from two other major European clubs to sign the 18-year-old Moroccan midfield sensation. City are clearly pushing hard to clinch their second major midfield signing of the summer. Manchester City have already clinched their first major midfield signing of the summer. They have signed Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest and the England international looms as a key player for Enzo Maresca’s side for next season and beyond. Now City are pushing hard to sign Bouaddi to add another quality midfielder to their squad. Sam Lee has reported for The Athletic that Manchester City view Bouaddi as a player who will come in and operate as a deep-lying playmaker in their midfield. City also believe that Bouaddi’s combative nature and strength in duels is suited to the Premier League. However, the FA Cup and Carabao Cup holders do feel that Bouaddi does need to improve as a player in the final third. Watching Bouaddi play for Lille or Morocco does highlight this fact. However, Bouaddi is only 18 and the fact that Manchester City believes that he can contribute in the Premier League shows why they are so eager to sign him.
